Just like women who are newly pregnant, and they see babies and other expectant moms everywhere,

I see rock trucks everywhere.

I notice heavy equipment now, check out the brand names and buckets.

I see canary yellow everywhere.

Namely, on J's bed last weekend ...

Wii Hula Hoop - Roughan Style

Relaxing in PL

I went to Liana's for a couple of days.
TOTALLY relaxed in her gorgeous new house on the water
Played Wii, Played with the kids, Drank way too much coffee and gossiped
maybe a little too much ....

Roughan actually washes the dishes ! Despite the dishwasher beside him.

Rhys - is always smiling her toothy little smile.
She personifies squishableness and sloppy kisses

Abby (the choco lab) literally follows Rhys around the house,
feasting on the frequently dropped scraps of food from the
crawling, eating, drooling wonder ....

Speaking of eating .... just look at those sausage legs !

Li and I couldn't contain ourselves watching Roughan 'run on Wii'.

He runs on the spot, but would end up at right in front of the tv,

his neck craned to see himself on the screen, and huffing and grunting

from the exerted energy.

Completely oblivious to his adult audience rolling around, plugging their

noses so the hysteria wasn't audible.

SUCH a great way to spend 48 hours.

Roughan is almost 5 and soooooo much fun.

We went to Shoppers Drug Mart together while Mom and

baby were elsewhere and we had a total blast on just silly things.

Another Pizza Night

We had pizza night again at Adam's a couple of weeks ago.
We each made one up.
This was mine. I copied it from Bertucci's.
I didn't get pictures of his. I guess it wasn't as cool as mine :-)

A Night of Wii

Got to spend Saturday night with the kiddos.
They kicked my butt in bowling
I have so much video. I have to think about putting it up because
I look pre-tty ridiculous ...
Graceful, I'm not.
Oh. And in an attempt to not feel like a total bum, I switched my
trademark Lululemon ensemble, ponytail and headband for a cute little
casual teeshirt dress, sliver funky tights and my Uggs. (I actually washed/blowdried/straightened my hair) (I actually put real makeup on -
not just the basics)
So there I was bowling in a sweet little outfit. The boy was taking pictures and video
the entire time and MOST of the pictures are unshowable. Very unflattering angles.
But the video, I think I'm going to sacrifice my pride and post it.
Just give me a day or so to get up the courage ....
It will give me joy to just make you laugh. (even though my self esteem hangs delicately in the balance ... )

Just For Fun

For my birthday, Stephanie (pictured below) treated me to a makeover at M-A-C.
(complete with false eyelashes) then off to a mini night out (mini because I seem to be really showing my age !!! She went on to party without me, as I bowed out at midnight!!!)

Eyes closed by accident, but it really shows the dramatic color.

Marilu got Reader of the Month (week maybe?) for December.

Listen to her sweet voice. And I love how she scans the pages before she reads ....

Can't wait to see her again!!

Scraping the Ramp

Unemployment does not fare well with me .... I am bored.
Unmotivated. I know I'm not staying in Halifax, so I'm not looking for work here.
Cynical. But thats normal anyway. :-)
I dress like a bum. Well, bummier than usual.
Tired of answering "why are you at Starbucks in the middle of the day on your laptop?" and "Why do you smell?", and "Shouldn't you shower sometime this week?" and "when did you brush your hair last?" and stuff like that.
(not really, cept for the first one!)
With plans to fly back out west next week, I am starting to feel better.
ANYWAY, I found this vid and thought you'd be interested to see.
The ramps in the pit; not even just the ramps, but any surface are all snow and with 60 tonnes driving it across it at 3 minute intervals, it tends to be super slippery.
So we radio the dozer operator to go "scrap the ramp".
When he does, this is what it looks like.
